The First Six Months Of Obama
I received this email, and was asked to check it out. So, I’ve done my research, and have made my conclusions. The support videos and sources are added before the next entry.
Obama’s First Six Months’ Accomplishments
1. Offended the Queen of England.
There is some confusion as to what was on the IPOD. The Huffington Post says that what was on the IPOD was the Queen’s visit from 2007. It was also said that he added a mix of music.
Uploaded onto the iPod:

Britain’s Press Association reports that the Royal couple gave the Obamas "a silver-framed, signed photograph of themselves." And the Obama team confirms that these show tunes were also uploaded on Ye Olde Queen’s iPod, first reported by the AP:

What was controversial was Michelle Obama’s behavior about touching the Queen, and wearing a sleeveless dress to the dinner. I think the British citizens and “The Sun” (newspaper) were more upset than the Queen about Mrs. Messiah touching the Queen, but even a British reporter (on Cooper 360) mentioned that Jackie O would never have considered breaking that rule. When in Rome, do as the Romans do, or are the Obama’s too good for the rules and protocols? I’m hoping that maybe she goes to Saudi Arabia in that attire (laughs) !!
2. Bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia.
This is a fact. He did bow to King Abdullah. In my opinion, subordinates are the only ones that bow to a king. The “thou need not bow” commandment from the State Department’s protocol office maintained a constancy of more than 200 years. Administration officials scurried during Clinton’s near-bow to the Emperor of Japan in 1994 to insist that it “was not a bow-bow, if you know what I mean” (Ambassador Molly Raiser, the Chief of Protocol). Obama supporters will be quick to point out that Bush kissed the hand and held it when he met the King. Showing respect for someone is different than hoisting oneself into a submissive posture, even if it was just for a second. To me, this says that he just doesn’t care about protocol. Am I sensing the beginning of a theme here? What really kills me is that the White House denied him bowing to the King. When asked by CNN reporter Dan Lothian, press secretary Robert Gibbs denied (as seen on C-SPAN2) that Obama bowed, and when confronted with the facts seen on tape of the G-20 Summit in London, Gibbs dismissed the question. Symbolism and leadership are extremely critical in matters of world affairs. It seems that our new President would rather be accepted and befriended by his new friends abroad than preserve America’s reputation and leadership as the world’s pre-eminent superpower. Watching the way he apologized to the European audience and said that America has been “arrogant” and “dismissive”, and then bowing to King Abdullah is like a little submissive bitch dog rolling over and submitting to a bigger tougher dog. What a president. Why didn’t he bow to the Queen of England? Was it because she is a woman? Or because she has no oil?
3. Praised the Marxist Daniel Ortega.
I couldn’t find any direct “praising” of Ortega, but when the Nicaraguan President gave a 50-minute tirade about U.S. aggression in Central America, nothing much was said on the part of our sacred President. Part of Ortega’s speech even mocked the summit that he was attending: "This summit and I simply refuse to call it summit of the Americas. Yes, we are gathered here, we have a large majority of presidents, heads of state of Latin America and the Caribbean," Ortega said, lamenting the lack of Cuban participation in the summit due to it exclusion since 1962 from the Organization of American States. "They’re absent from this meeting. One is Cuba, whose crime has been that of fighting for independence, fighting for sovereignty of the peoples. I don’t feel comfortable attending this summit. I cannot feel comfortable by being here. I feel ashamed of the fact that I’m participating at this summit with the absence of Cuba."
Obama said nothing. Neither did Hillary Clinton, who went instead off on a tangent about culture (??!?). There is a fine line between being firm and not saying anything to keep the waters peaceful. This is what Obama had to say about Ortega during his 17-minute address to the summit: "To move forward, we cannot let ourselves be prisoners of past disagreements. I’m grateful that President Ortega did not blame me for things that happened when I was three months old. Too often, an opportunity to build a fresh partnership of the Americas has been undermined by stale debates. We’ve all heard these arguments before." Actually, more stupidity from Mr. Messiah. The invasion of CIA-trained rebels at the Bay of Pigs in Cuba occurred in April 1961. When was Obama born? August 4, 1961. Even I have a Blackberry and could have Google’ed that on the spot.
There is, however, an issue with his associations with Socialists. (Yes, yes, I know he doesn’t like that brought up). I will forever call them Obama’s Marxis Axis of Friends (thank-you LiveLeak.com) One of his associates, Rev. Jeremiah Wright (remember him?) Well, he did loudly praise the Marxist Sandinista dictatorship of Nicaragua. And what doesn’t surprise me, is Ortega and Chavez now support Obama. I think that Obama’s choice of pastor should bear on whether or not to dismiss this guilt by association.
4. Kissed Socialist Hugo Chavez on the cheek.
This is not true. I watched quite a few videos and didn’t see this “kiss”, but what I did see, and was appalled by was how easily Obama was joking around with Chavez. He even accepted a book from Chavez that openly criticized the U.S. But then again, if you really look at Chavez’s economical policies, he is very much in line with the way Obama thinks about business.
5. Endorsed the Socialist Evo Morales of Bolivia .
I did not find anything to support this. What I did find was that Morales was pissy because he felt that Obama lied to him. Evidently, Obama allegedly pledged to change the way the U.S. treated Latin America, becoming a peer rather than an overseer of countries in the region. Who’s to say what was said at the Summit Of the America’s in April, things said off-the-record. Obama did say that he might be willing to ease some of the restrictions asserted by the U.S. against countries in Latin America. “I pledge to you that we seek an equal partnership. There is no senior partner nor junior partner in our relations. Simply engagement based on mutual respect, common interests, and shared values.” The problem with dealing with the people that he is “befriending” is that they don’t have common interests and shared value with Obama, or do they? I think we need to monitor his “private” talks with these sorts of people a little more carefully.
6. Sided with Hugo Chavez and Communist Fidel Castro against Honduras .
It is true that he chose the side of Honduran President Manuel Zelaya. What you may not know about Zelaya, are the events that lead to his ousting. Last Sunday, Honduran President Manuel Zelaya was awakened by soldiers who gave him a one-way ticket to exile in Costa Rica. What seemed like a prototypical Latin American military coup, however, was belied by the events leading to Zelaya’s departure. Like his chief backer, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, Zelaya was intent on rewriting his country’s constitution to abolish term limits. Only the Honduran Congress, however, is legally capable of calling a constitutional convention. Unable to convince even his own ostensible legislative allies to support his scheme, Zelaya said he would implement a referendum unilaterally, and Chavez mailed the necessary ballots. When the country’s Supreme Court declared his actions unconstitutional and the country’s top military officer informed Zelaya that he would not carry out his orders to oversee a sham election, Zelaya fired him. Zelaya then led a mob of supporters – including armed thugs supplied by Chavez and Nicaraguan Sandinista leader Daniel Ortega – to try to steal the ballots. On Tuesday, Zelaya was given a hero’s welcome by the United Nations General Assembly. More worrying has been American complicity in the campaign to restore an authoritarian to power, beginning with U.S. co-sponsorship of a resolution stating that the removal of Zelaya "interrupted the democratic and constitutional order and the legitimate exercise of power in Honduras." Actually what this seems to me is that Obama was supporting putting an authoritarian, nearer to a dictator, back into power. The people spoke. They wanted him out. Meanwhile, Obama is pushing the Organization Of American States to expel Honduras if they do not restore Zelaya’s presidency. Yet, this same group readmitted communist Cuba, and routinely is abused by Venezuela, Bolivia, and Ecuador, two of which are buddies of Obama.
7. Announced we would meet with Iranians with no pre-conditions while they’re building their nuclear weapons.
I’m not sure how we can be “tough and direct” as the White House blog puts it, while going in and suspending the condition of no uranium enrichment program. There were four sets of UN sanctions. In the experience of dealing with people like this, we must be ever observant of prohibiting the “give an inch and take a mile” scenario. It’s not cocaine we are talking about here, but rather nuclear weapons. So what about the 2 conditions that Iran placed on us? Now what, Obama?
1. All U.S. forces must leave the Middle East.
2. The U.S. must drop all support for Israel.
It’s political and religious suicide. Also, I don’t agree with taking our weapons off the “current hair trigger alert”, especially while Iran is so close to achieving warheads, and let’s not forget about North Korea, Syria, Cuba or Venezuela. I don’t want the U.S. to be the only one with the warheads, but I don’t want the only one to be Iran either. I don’t see how we can increase international confidence in verification techniques when countries are so good at lying. I am torn on this one. Also, just as a footnote, I thought it was interesting how Obama said he would meet “unconditionally” during his first year in the Office (per comment to video question during his campaign) and then his administration was scrambling to define the words that he used (laughs)… here’s the link to read for yourself.

8. Gave away billions to AIG also without pre-conditions.
This is absolutely true. I am so sick of hearing about the alleged “measures” put in place to protect the tax payers’ money. The truth of the matter on this is that the government is protected. Your money is gone. The government owns 79.9% of the company equity, and is now considered the majority owner. This is supposed to be a loan, with a 24-month term. The interest rate is set at 3 month LIBOR plus 850 basis points. This is a variable rate that resets weekly. If the weekly rate is 2.81%, the loan facility is 11.31%. This means that the annual (simple) interest of 11.31% on $1 billion is $113.1 million. On $10 billion, it is $1.131 billion. And on $85 billion, it is $9.61 billion. The loan is collateralized by all the assets of AIG and its non-regulated subsidiaries (the assets of the regulated subsidiaries (insurance companies) are off limits). The loan is to be repaid from asset sale proceeds. According to the Fed statement, the government “will receive a 79.9% equity interest” in AIG, with the right to veto dividends to common and preferred shareholders. The problem with this is that the sales of AIG’s non-core subsidiaries and minority interests might raise “as much as $42 billion” before taxes. If AIG makes good on its loan, what will the government do with its ownership? Will it sell its interest, and if so, when, to whom, for what price, and under what circumstances? AIG decided that the Feds set overly strict terms and decided it wanted something different. While AIG continues to hemorrhage, despite the bailout, says that the Treasure will help and intervene, but only at a big cost to shareholders AND the tax payers. Where’s my bailout?
9. Expanded the bailouts.
I don’t agree with the bailouts. Basically, he has the government owning private businesses, now. I would rather see different changes: Let the companies sink. They made bad business decisions. If you or I made bad decisions, we would be on our own. This is the natural evolution of businesses. You do stupid things, you fail, your company dies. I would rather see a flat 6-8% tax on ALL forms of income. I would rather see all religious institutions off the tax-exempt list. This includes all churches, mosques, temples, etc. No exceptions. Tired of seeing all that money hiding in those institutions. Tired of watching preachers in their fine tailored suits driving their Cadillacs around. Oh, and another thing. Revise and re-initiate the Morrill Tariff. You’ll have plenty of money then, while protecting U.S. businesses. Just tell me how much more of my tax dollars are going to be used to bailout these companies with bad business decisions? Something important to mention is that American Express has become a bank holding firm so that it can participate in the federal financial bailout. Just for the record… you can’t spend yourself out of debt.
10. Insulted everyone who has ever loved a Special Olympian.
This is a slight exaggeration. The comment, made on the Jay Leno show (3/19/09), was insensitive at best and cruel at its worst. In his apology, he said that he “hopes the president’s slip of the tongue a teachable moment for our country.” Not sure why, since it was his slip of the tongue. I just wonder how much “slipping” his tongue does during talks with Morales and Chavez.
11. Doubled our national debt.
I frequently hear that our national debt was stemmed by previous presidential plans, and more often, by Obama supporters, directly from Obama, crying that the economy was in the black when Clinton left office. It is a fact that the war was very expensive. And while you want to pin all the stimulus bill on Bush, the Wall Street bailout was supported by Obama. Obama also extended Bush policies like the Iraq war and tax cuts for households making less than $250,000. But it doesn’t help that Obama and those who speak for him (the Clintons) are running around the globe promising money to other countries ($63 billion to Global Health – geared for his precious Africa). Quit with the bailouts. Put tighter restrictions on welfare. Stop putting religious entities on tax exemption. Enforce a straight 6-8% income tax on all forms of income. Cut the salaries of all elected officials. Put the administration on a budget (including Michelle, and especially Pelosi). Set hard limits on welfare. Revise and reinstate the Morrill Tariff in its own form. And btw… for as many websites you can post demonstrating the damage Bush did to the economy, I can post to show how much continued damage Obama is doing.
12. Announced the termination of our new missile defense system the day after North Korea launched an ICBM.
Whether or not our current system is plagued with problems, I didn’t see any other system offered up in the website that was stated. The THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) and SBX (Sea Based X-Band) Both have issues, but I have not seen anything that would replace what we have. Terminating it without replacing it with some sort of defense is insane, especially with North Korea “testing”.
This is why Obama’s plan puts us at risk: (http://www.heritage.org/research/nationalsecurity/bg2292.cfm )

13. Released information on U.S. intelligence gathering despite urgings of his own CIA director and the prior four CIA directors.
It was said that “transparency can be a good thing”… and it can be a bad thing. While we should hold ourselves above everyone else, when that behavior is met with constant barbarism from the other side, how are we to act? Peace is not peaceful. And sometimes, people who are responsible to get the information must do what the rest of us cannot, or will not. When it comes to the responsibility of safety to my family and loved ones, I am willing sacrifice a bit of decency from those that willingly place themselves into questionable situations. Before I am willing to create transparency in the dealings with foreign aggressors, I wish for the transparency in dealing with the people of our own continent. Period.
14. Accepted without comment that five of his cabinet members cheated on their taxes and two other nominees withdrew after they couldn’t take the heat.
This is unacceptable. Nor do I agree with his appointments of questionable people. So much for his improved ethics.
15. Appointed a Homeland Security Chief who identified military veterans and abortion opponents as "dangers to the nation.” Also, the word “terrorism” is no longer to be used, but instead referred to such acts as “man made disasters”
I cannot blame for vets to be dismayed with Obama. He was wanting to force them away from their VA benefits stating that they volunteered for the service, and therefore should be responsible for their injuries by getting on private insurance instead of VA (which, btw, most will not cover injuries and/or illnesses as the result of war time activities. I can say this because I am licensed as a H&L agent in SC). Then the DHS put this out in April, in the form of a 9-page report called “Right-Wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment”: It warned that “the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks.” The way I look at it, is that typically, it’s veterans that are the ones strong enough to stick to the road less traveled, than most civilians. The average citizen today seems to be more willing to relinquish rights than to hold on to them. Maybe they should focus more on anti-Semitic groups instead of vets.
To the comment that two cops were suspended for doing an unauthorized background check on the president… I would have, too. He is hiding something. He sealed his records. So did Hitler. My tax dollars are paying his salary, for his wife’s shopping sprees…. I, as well as every other tax-paying citizen, have the right to know the truth. So much for transparency, Obama lovers.
I was disappointed by the biased nature of your childish posting of the pro-gun control posting. You yourself probably don’t own a gun, never have, never will. You probably have never been in a situation that would have benefited from you having one. For the rest of the world outside of “Perfect, USA”, will carry a gun so that we don’t have to use it. Actually, Obama has been a cosponsor of a gun control law, and supported many others. These laws do nothing but limit the rights of those that follow the law, and do little to nothing to those who are willing to break the law.
I could not find hardly anything about Arif Alikhan on the web. He was appointed by Obama as the Asst Secretary DHS. What about the transparency here? I could not find anything on where he was born, beyond a being the child of a Sunni and Pakistani. Kareem Shora was born in Damascus Syria. I don’t care that they are Muslim, what bothers me is the secrecy surrounding Alikhan and where Shora is from. I also worry about their not-so-past associations. Something that I do want to point out here, is that Obama has vowed to appoint a national cyber advisor to report directly to the President, strengthen a White House privacy and civil liberties board. For him wanting to have everyone else run under transparency, why does he need more privacy than he already has?

16. Began the process of nationalizing the Auto Industry and the Insurance industry.
There, you are right when you say that the government doesn’t own either the auto industry and insurance industry, but wrong, because the government owns 79.9% shares of AIG and is acting as a reluctant equity owner in GM. See also #8.
17. Circled the globe to publicly apologize for America ‘s world leadership.
This is true. He has been circling the globe. Maybe, to a degree, America has been arrogant, but the world has been using America just as much. If we withdrew our assistance to the world, and started taking more care of ourselves, we would be better off. Close our borders, and focus our money and effort on ourselves, instead of the world. Take that sink or swim attitude that we should be applying to the businesses to our foreign relations. And I think he needs to spend a little more time at home taking care of America instead of buddy-ing up with Chavez, etc.
On the last note, while I am a fair person, he did say that Europeans should recognize America’s exceptionalism”. What is that anyways?
ex•cep•tion•al•ism ( k-s p sh -n -l z m)n.
1. The condition of being exceptional or unique.
2. The theory or belief that something, especially a nation, does not conform to a pattern or norm.
na•tion•al•ism (n sh -n -l z m, n sh n -) n.
1. Devotion to the interests or culture of one’s nation.
2. The belief that nations will benefit from acting independently rather than collectively, emphasizing national rather than international goals.
3. Aspirations for national independence in a country under foreign domination.
Sounds like “a political-science professor’s definition of nationalism, not a belief in America’s unique accomplishments and history.
18. Told the Mexican president that the violence in their country was because of us.
If the Mexican president wanted to curb the violence in their country, they could do so, just like we could. By producing stricter border control, we can easily reduce the so-called violence that spills from their country into ours. I don’t think that limiting our gun laws for the sake of another country is the answer. So, let’s withdraw our assistance to drug countries, and build up our border. Defend our borders with a vengeance. So, I sit here and read about how our own US Congress is wanting money from the aid package called the Meridia Initiative be withheld because of human rights abuse allegations against the Mexican military. Mind you, it’s the Mexican military that is leading the fight against organized crime. What can we realistically do here in the U.S.? Let’s see… we can defend our borders to the death. Shoot those crossing from either side. We can put the death penalty on the table for repeat drug offenders. Take religious entities off the tax exempt list and take some of the tax money and beef up the rehabilitation programs. If the President of Mexico can’t control his own country, maybe he just doesn’t need to be the president of Mexico.
19. Politicized the census by moving it into the White House from the Department of Commerce.
It seems to me that having the director of the Census Bureau report to the White House instead of Commerce Secretary nominee, Judd Gregg, is a circumvention meaning more control for Obama’s administration. According to Title 13 of the U.S. Code, the Bureau is to be administered “within, and under the jurisdiction of, the Department of Commerce.” According to this same U.S. Code, the Executive Branch is limited to providing support for the Bureau in the form of information and resources. Just so you are aware, the purpose of this census every 10 years, counts all Americans, and use the results to allocate Congressional seats (redistricting), electoral votes, and some governmental funding. By having the director of the Census Bureau report to the White House, the census would, more or less by default, fall under the jurisdiction of Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, son of the terrorist against Palestine. While it has been stated that Obama wouldn’t think about having the Cenus politicized, are you prepared to believe him?

Title 13 of the U.S. Code: (http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/uscode13/usc_sup_01_13.html )
20. Appointed as Attorney General the man who orchestrated the forced removal and expulsion to Cuba of a 9-year-old whose mother died trying to bring him to freedom in the United States .
Typical Obama-supporter tactics: Bringing another wrong to make this wrong look right. I think that the boy should have been deported. He was not born in the U.S., and therefore was illegal. My issue with Eric Holder Jr. is that as deputy attorney general he failed to oppose a presidential pardon for then-fugitive financier Marc Rich on the last day of the Clinton administration. Rich’s wife, Denise, was a top campaign contributor to Democratic causes. It just seems like he had his way paid to be the first “African American A.G.” (rolls my eyes).
21. Salutes as heroes three Navy SEALS who took down three terrorists who threatened one American life and the next day announces members of the Bush administration may stand trial for "torturing" three 9/11 terrorists by pouring water up their noses.
This falls again under what I was saying with number 13. Please scroll back to it.
22. Low altitude photo shoot of Air Force One over New York City that frightened thousands of New Yorkers.
Besides the insensitive actions of this, but what about the cost? He says he knew nothing about it, but the “okay” for something like this had to come from near the top. Does he not have control over his own staff? While Caldera took responsibility, was he properly prosecuted? Who paid for the so-called unauthorized fly by? I think it was the people’s money. So who is going to pay back the approximately $329,000 that was used to take the photo of Air Force One and the Statue of Liberty?
23. Sent his National Defense Advisor to Europe to assure them that the US will no longer treat Israel in a special manner and they might be on their own with the Muslims.
This is true. But he led the Jewish Americans to believe that he would continue to protect Israel. It is true that Israel is a strong nation, but I honestly wonder just who the Obama will back up when it comes down to it.
24. Praised Jimmy Carter’s trip to Gaza where he sided with terrorist Hamas against Israel .
I didn’t find anything to support this. What I did find was that Carter praises Obama for his Middle East policy. And just so you know, Hamas is pleased to see a new attitude coming out of the White House, but refuses to recognize Israel. Carter also is begging Obama to remove Hamas from the terrorist list.
25. Passed a huge energy tax in the House that will make American industry even less competitive while costing homeowners thousands per year.
It was claimed that there would be jobs created, but they fail to say what jobs would be created. While they will be monitoring the utility companies, there’s nothing to keep the electricity rates in check. Also, the legislation addresses CO2 emissions in stationary industries like refineries and steel mills, but what about the other unchecked emissions. While the bill claims that consumers will see savings, it is possible that this will happen through refund opportunities and by using more energy efficient products. Otherwise, they will see the cost per watt going up. Some companies are pushing wind energy, but they fail to let consumers know about the effects on bat and bird populations. Lord knows we need the bats and birds to keep down the bug populations.
26. Announced nationalized health care "reform" that will strip seniors of their Medicare, cut pay of physicians, increase taxes yet another $1 trillion, and put everyone on rationed care with government bureaucrats deciding who gets care and who doesn’t.
Bloomberg: Daschle says, "Health care reform will not be pain free. Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them," while former Colorado Governor Dick Lamm says seniors have "a duty to die." Lest we also remember that the President, Senators and Congressmen have their own special gold plated health care plan which is guaranteed the remainder of their lives and they are not subject to this new law if they pass it.
I had to laugh when I saw your comment about the rankings and that 36 other countries had better health care than the United States. But you forgot to mention that we are larger than any of the countries on that list, by a long shot.
It also kind of ticked me off at your ignorance when you said that the Medicare and VA health networks were “the best in the world” to quote you. Is that why your link was to “Crooks And Liars” dot com? As a agent of H&L insurance, that deals specifically with Seniors, I can assure you that with Medicare and VA, you are at the mercy of the system. A prime example is a typical experience with a vet facing his 64th birthday: one veteran has prostate cancer. He would have to wait 3 months for his treatment in the Columbia, SC area. He went to Atlanta and got the procedure done 2 months sooner. Under a private sector, he would have been taken in immediately. Medicare is constantly being whittled away. The government cannot run it successfully.
I can’t help but wonder, as an Obama supporter, have you really read his healthcare proposal through and through? Well, I challenge you know to do so.
Here’s some things for you to keep in mind as you are reading it.
Pg 22 of the HC Bill MANDATES the Government will audit books of ALL EMPLOYERS that self insure!!
Pg 30 Sec 123 of HC bill – THERE WILL BE A GOVT COMMITTEE that decides what treatments/benefits you get
